“Theatre VO is a completely different way of learning French; it’s amazing how much you take in without even realising it. Acting was never really my thing- but acting in French is completely different!! It’s great fun and I’d recommend the course to anyone who wants to improve their ability to speak French.” – Rosie

I went to see Le Misanthrope at Bristol Old Vic. It was an unforgettable performance in modern day dress and using a translation by Tony Harrison which was extremely funny and full of up to the minute references, to Nicolas Sarkozy etc. I had never read the play, yet it was instantly accessible. Simon Armstrong who played Alceste was incredible, full of anger and frustration, energetically rushing headlong through the play. I remembered the same actor playing Uncle Vanya last year with equal force as he railed against his lot.
